About This Course

The purpose of the Jordan Specialist Course is to help you, the professional travel agent, develop a specialty in travel to Jordan. As with any specialty, your pursuit of a Jordan travel specialty should be ongoing, including continued study as well as travel to Jordan.

Course Objectives

By completing the course content, application activities and Specialist exam, you will be able to:
• Create a realistic portrayal of Jordan by recognizing its key historical developments and current cultural and tourism characteristics.

• Identify features of key destinations in five major touring regions of Jordan: Amman, North Jordan, Eastern Desert, Dead Sea and King’s Highway, and South Jordan.
• Develop strategies for selling Jordan, including how to segment your market, plan itineraries, and handle your customers’ concerns and questions about traveling to Jordan.
• Earn a certificate designating you as an ASTA Jordan Travel Specialist.

Course Requirements

To earn a specialist certificate upon completion of this course, you must:
• Successfully complete the included exam, which consists of 50 multiple-choice questions based on course content.

• Submit a written itinerary following the instructions provided with this course.

Upon successful completion of the course, your services as a Jordan Specialist will be promoted on the Web site of Jordan Tourism Board North America (www.visitjordan.com). In addition, JTBNA will extend you invitations to join
them on their several co-op activities opportunities.
