GET THE LOW-DOWN ON LIFE BELOW SEA LEVEL
AT JORDAN'S NEW DEAD SEA PARKWAY

An enormous new tourism complex, currently under development along the rugged Zara Cliffs soaring above the shores of the Dead Sea, is set to make a massive contribution to Jordan's appeal as one of the world's leading destinations.

The Dead Sea Parkway will include a museum and exhibition hall, offering insights into the past, present and future of the Dead Sea; a 138-seat conference centre; a restaurant; panoramic terraces; and a permanent outdoor exhibition area devoted to the geology and flora of this unique region.

The Parkway is designed to form the final link in a “tourism circuit” encompassing Madaba and the Ma'in spa, the Zara Cliffs, the Dead Sea coast itself, and Jordan's vibrant capital, Amman.

As well as providing additional leisure and conference facilities, the Parkway will also give visitors panoramic views of a number of significant religious and historical sites, as well as the chance to enjoy the spectacularly beautiful Dead Sea sunsets.

Additionally, the Parkway is expected to become an important educational centre, particularly for schoolchildren.

The museum and exhibition hall will feature four permanent exhibits, focussing on the geological origins of the Dead Sea, the ecology of the Sea and its surroundings, the history of man's interaction with the Dead Sea, and the future conservation of the area.

Six panoramic terraces will give visitors some of the most notable historic “markers” of the region, including Jerusalem, Jericho, the River Jordan and Mount Nebo. Paths linking the terraces will be flanked by natural “gardens” planted to reflect the area's indigenous rocks, plants and flowers.
