Four Seasons, Marriott, Sheraton Set to Open
Five-Star Hotels in Jordan this Year

Construction Projects Reflect International Recognition Of Safe,
Secure Environment in the Kingdom

WASHINGTON, DC (March 28, 2001) – Three international hotel companies – Four Seasons, Marriott and Sheraton -- will open new five-star properties in Jordan this year, adding to the Kingdom's fast growing inventory and reflecting recognition of the safety and security of the country.

“We are very pleased to be working with these world-class hotels companies,” said Marwan Khoury, director of the Jordan Tourism Board. “They see the potential in Jordan and realize that it is a peaceful destination with substantial growth prospects in the North American and European markets.”

In Amman, Sheraton and Four Seasons are both due to open later this year. Luxurious and well designed, these two hotels promises upscale travelers the very best in hotel accommodations.

Le Royal, the tallest building in the capital city, is opening its doors in the beginning of next year. Complete with service apartments, office space, conference rooms and exhibit areas, Le Royal promises to be an all-in-one facility that will appeal to meeting and convention planners.

Movenpick recently opened its fourth property in Jordan, the Nabatean Castle in Petra. Its second hotel in the famous city, Movenpick's deluxe rooms and services attract visitors from all over the world. Petra's other addition is the five-star Taybet Zaman's sister property, Beit Zaman, which opened late last year. Built around an 18th century village, Beit Zaman is located at the entrance of Petra's town of Wadi Mousa.

The famed Movenpick Dead Sea Resort is getting a new neighbor this summer, the Marriott Dead Sea. With 180 rooms, modern spa facilities and a private area along the Dead Sea, the Marriott offers comfort, relaxation and a breathtaking surroundings.

Other five-star hotels in Jordan include the Intercontinental, Regency, Holiday Inn, Grand Hyatt, SAS Radisson, and Le Meridien.
