INTERCONTINENTAL AQABA RESORT SETS
NEW RED SEA STANDARD

Jordan's new InterContinental Aqaba Resort, opening in Spring 2005, is scheduled to become a magnet for leisure travellers as well as a prime conference and incentive venue.

A new-build development on Jordan's Red Sea coast, the InterContinental Aqaba Resort will offer 265 rooms, including 42 Club InterContinental business rooms, two Royal suites, two Presidential suites, and a selection of Junior suites.

All rooms will have sea views and feature high-speed Internet access. Suites will feature sea-view balconies and Jacuzzis as standard.

Set in landscaped gardens, the hotel will boast the largest swimming pool in Aqaba, which will be spanned by bridges leading guests directly on to the Red Sea beaches. The property will have its own marina, four restaurants and a variety of bars.

Extensive business facilities include a Club Floor with its own lounge, and a conference suite with a 700-capacity ballroom complemented by smaller breakout rooms. All public areas will have wireless Internet connectivity.

Gunter Grigoleit, director of operations, Jordan and Palestine, says: “The new state-of-the-art facilities provided by the new InterContinental hotel will add significantly to the attractions of Aqaba, and we are fully committed to being a major player in the anticipated emergence of this Red Sea resort.”

The InterContinental Aqaba Resort will be the InterContinental Hotels Group's fifth Jordanian property. Others include the InterContinental Jordan, where Grigoleit is general manager, the Holiday Inn Amman, and Crowne Plazas in Amman and Petra.
